  WHAT HAPPENED?

  The manager was furious after Alejandro Garnacho was denied a penalty after being pushed over by Destiny Udogie in the first half of the thrilling 2-2 draw at Old Trafford. There was no VAR review after the challenge and play continued, much to the frustration of Ten Hag.

• WHAT TEN HAG SAID

  "Yes," Ten Hag said when asked if he was surprised a penalty had not been given. "What can you do? But I am used to it, all season that is the case. At Spurs it was similar, a clear handball from [Cristian] Romero and I can list a number more. At some point in the season I think it will turn to our side. Let's hope for that."

  THE BIGGER PICTURE

  United were denied a penalty in the corresponding fixture away to Tottenham when Romero handled the ball. Ten Hag also vented his fury against a marginal offside call against Garnacho and a possible penalty for Rasmus Hojlund in the 3-1 defeat by Arsenal in September. And he felt Manchester City had been awarded a soft penalty in their 3-0 win at Old Trafford in October.
